We are:

• A global network of Jesus-followers who have left institutional church structures
• People authorized and empowered by Jesus to function as disciple-makers and missionaries right where we are
• Ordinary people from every occupation, race, color, sex, age, nation, tribe and language
• Forward thinkers following Jesus outside the box and into the margins
• Those who carry a fire to see God’s will done on earth as it is in Heaven

Some of us were hurt.
Some of us were simply restless.
Some of us just sensed there had to be another way.

Our focus is not on what we left — It’s on what we’re running toward.

• A campaign against the institutional church
• A deconstruction echo chamber
• A protest movement
• A new denomination

Jesus has one Church. We honor the good we’ve received. Many of us were shaped, saved, and blessed within traditional systems. We are grateful.

This movement is not about what we’re against. It’s about what we are FOR.

• Following Jesus with clarity, courage and creativity
• Spirit-led innovation in how we live and gather
• Supporting one another without pressure to conform
• Building community across cities and continents
• Encouraging unconventional obedience
• Running toward love, not away from disappointment

You are seen.

You are loved.

You belong.

You matter.

You’re not done. (That is, Jesus is not done with you.)

You are not the problem with the church. In fact, you’re an important part of the solution.

You’re not alone. You are part of one of the largest spiritual movements of our lifetime.

“Dark Horse” typically refers to someone who is underestimated or overlooked. They often achieve unexpected success, often against the odds. They have hidden strengths, talent or potential that have gone unnoticed or unappreciated. For those reasons, almost no one sees them coming.

When you left the institution, you may have felt misunderstood, marginalized, maybe even written off as a “backslider.” There probably weren’t a lot of Christians cheering you on, supporting your decision, trying to help you thrive outside of the box.

Here’s what most people don’t understand: We’ve stepped away from conventional church structures — not because we’re bitter or rebellious, but because we long for more:

• More authentic discipleship
• More meaningful community
• More Kingdom impact
• More alignment between Jesus’ life and ours

We believe Jesus still calls people to unconventional paths. And we believe those paths lead to beautiful places.

In chess, the knight moves differently than every other piece.
It doesn’t travel in straight lines.
It leaps over obstacles.
It reaches places others can’t. And, like a Dark Horse, others often don’t see it coming.
